Following a landmark run that saw Sapiens reach its 100th release and welcome reinterpretations from rRoxymore, Floyd Lavine, and Head High, Agoria’s label returns this summer with a new twelve-track compilation. Featuring eleven original productions from DeLaurentis, Mooglie, Valentine Groove, Greg Cerrone, and more, alongside a special bonus dub from Henrik Schwarz, the collection offers a snapshot of the diverse artistry, sound, and creative connections that continue to shape the Sapiens universe.
French musician, producer, composer and singer DeLaurentis kicks off with the broody bass and celestial vocal fragments of ‘Parallel’ which soon sweep you off your feet. ‘Forget You’ is a striking collaboration between Parisian producer Mooglie and Moroccan live electronic duo WAHM, then Valentine Groove brings deft synth work to a deep and driving sound that is lit up with big piano chords on ‘Que Ric’ before WAHM reappear, this time with Paso Doble for the shadowy, heads down sounds of ‘Are You Busy’.
Elsewhere, South African Mr Joe brings late-night spiritual to his Afro tinged drums, Swiss artist Several Definitions layers lush and dreamy chords into an organic and heartfelt vocal house groove on ‘Dreaming Of You’ and Parisian Ramyen injects playful samples into his jazzy and atmospheric ‘Chico’. Closing out the tasteful collection are KitKat‘s ‘Haunted By You’, a serene and seductive after-dark dub, the moodier drive of GIOE (FR)‘s ‘Found You’, a hefty low-end workout from Kiko and Olivier Giacomotto‘s ‘Bring The Bass’ and Greg Cerrone’s seven-minute deep house odyssey, ‘Goodwill’. Last but not least, Henrik Schwarz delivers a sparkling, sun-kissed remix of Agoria‘s loopy delight ‘Get Away’.
Spanning an array of moods and grooves, from deep club cuts to more atmospheric moments, the compilation captures a label still very much in motion.
