San Diego-born DJ/producer AJK returns to Collecting Dots with his ‘Sugar Daddy’ EP, with young US talent delivering two groove-led cuts built around vibrant basslines, provocative vocals and crisp production as he expands on the sound first introduced via his contribution to the label’s ‘Dot By Dot’ compilation.
“The moment I finished both tracks, I knew exactly where I wanted to take them. The funky basslines and hip-hop vocals instantly clicked. Collecting Dots is a label I’ve admired for a long time, and I’m thrilled to release a proper EP with them.”- AJK.
With previous outings on the likes of Shout! Label, Mood Child and PNK, plus early chart positions amongst Beatport’s Top 100, AJK’s catalogue is already beginning to take shape. His ‘Sugar Daddy’ EP marks both his first standalone release for Collecting Dots, but sees him building naturally on this as his sound continues to grow.
