Zunzarren’s route into house music has taken a less predictable path. From early years in Brazil’s psytrance scene to building a new identity in the US, those influences converge on ‘Freak’, his Modern Delivery Xpress debut – a dark, characterful record shaped by psychedelic instincts and club sensibility. Born in Ipatinga, Brazil, Zunzarren began DJing at just 17 in the country’s psytrance scene before relocating to the US in 2021 and turning his attention to production. That background continues to inform his approach today, with elements of his early influences finding their way into a sound that sits between indie dance and more experimental corners of house music. His evolving sound has earned support from The Martinez Brothers, Vintage Culture, Adam Ten, and more, while performances across New York and Boston have helped establish him as a growing presence within the East Coast scene. Following the launch of his own Indie Beats Records imprint in 2025, ‘Freak’ marks the next step in his journey, bringing together the influences, experiences, and instincts that have shaped his productions so far.
