Two in-demand Peruvian producers meet on Jamie Jones’ Hot Creations as Ammo Avenue and Chinonegro link for their three-track ‘Tell Me’ EP. The title track serves as the release’s shared centre before the pair branch off individually: Ammo Avenue taking control with ‘Sleepwalk’, while Chinonegro closes with ‘Cosmic’, turning the EP into a snapshot of both their chemistry and the separate sounds they are developing out of Peru. The music across the EP has already travelled well ahead of release, with FISHER, Mau P, Cloonee, Joseph Capriati, Chloe Caillet and Prunk all working tracks into their sets early doors, adding further weight to a release connecting two of Latin America’s surging names at different points in their relationship with Jamie Jones’ imprint.
For Ammo Avenue, ‘Tell Me’ marks a return two years after his ‘Serial Chiller’ EP, adding to a run that has also included outings on Hellbent Records, LTF Records, Metamorfosi and TSZR, and appearances at Hï Ibiza, The Warehouse Project, Ultra Brazil and Peru, BPM Festival and Resistance Lima. Chinonegro, meanwhile, arrives on the label for the first time following releases on LTF Records, 8Bit, BotaniQ and NUSONIDO, bringing a second Peruvian voice into the Hot Creations fold as the pair reunite following their recent collaborative remix of Fatboy Slim.
