More trouble on the white isle. Space and Privilege in Ibiza have now been searched by Spanish police, coming just days after the same happened to club Amnesia.

As part of Operation Chopin, the Tax Agency (AEAT) of Spain is reportedly looking into 87 nightlife spots across the nation, including four on the Balearic Islands. 14 individuals from these are also said to be under investigation. We know in the Amnesia case that the owner and his son were a couple of the people placed under arrest. Police assisted the AEAT at 6am this morning in Ibiza, as the two venues were searched as part of an inspection into nightlife finances and a crackdown on suspected fraud, according to Diario de Ibiza. Large sums of money were reportedly found hidden at Amnesia, and the latest report claims the same has happened at other venues that have been searched. However, its been stated that Space and Privilege being searched is “not related to the intervention in Amnesia.”

We have to wonder why there is the sudden raids being made, have these been planned for awhile or is this triggered by a recent event on the island? We will surely find out over time.
