The title of AYYBO’s latest offering spells it out plainly. “Certified” is a verifiable house banger that is stamped, sealed and delivered. “We’ve got a certified weapon // pointed in my direction,” is the lead line from the looped vocal refrain, delivered in a raspy, hushed tone that couldn’t be any more confident. Its sultry nature works in concert with the low-slung groove, with layers of swagger embedded in its weighty, pulsing bassline and shuffling drums. Factoring in a more hypnotic energy into the equation is the warbling acid lines, adding a deep warmth that makes the track ideal for open-air festival floors and late-night afters sessions alike.
AYYBO says the beguiling vocal sample was the spark that ignited his drive to create his new lysergic-laced club record.
“I got sent this vocal and, immediately, I had a dark, hypnotic bassline in mind,” he says. “I really wanted to create an acid-fueled house track, and I’m so happy how it turned out. It’s been a staple in my sets.”
Operating out of Orange County, the fast-rising SoCal producer AYYBO swiftly landed as one-to-watch almost instantly after launching the alias in 2022. An artist in multiple senses of the word, he has all the bases covered, flexing his creative muscles as producer, songwriter, vocalist and audiovisual savant. He’s still soaking up the highs from achieving massive summer anthem status for two years running.
