CloudNone’s new take on “Are You Happy Now” takes the break-up ballad to new heights, injecting an energetic groove without losing the emotional pull. Linney’s forlorn delivery strikes a nerve with its remorse ruminating amid glimmering tones. Thunderous bass crashes simulate swelling storm clouds, as ethereal atmospherics and spiraling melody lines build tension amidst punchy percussion. The questioning hook erupts into an array of frenetic drums, pulsating basslines, bouncy vocal chops, and subtle synth roars. The drops offer a cathartic release that mixes pain with elation for a sound that feels like dancing in the rain. CloudNone expertly strips and builds the beat around Linney’s gripping vocals, pulling at the heartstrings with each passing bar.

The re-imagination builds on the success of the original, which has amassed 483.9 thousand streams while drawing support from Airwave Music, WaveMusic, Melodic Magazine, Kindline Magazine, Aipate, LA On Lock, Roadie Music, Rockola Indie, Music On The Rox, and Distopic. CloudNone previously collaborated with Linney on “Quiet of My Mind,” which arrived on his four-track ‘Bliss’ EP via Lost In Dreams.

CloudNone offers insight into how the remix came to life, saying, “I’ve been bumping into SABAI at various events and places over the past few years, and then Linney and I became friends when we worked on ‘Quiet Of My Mind’ (from my Lost In Dreams ‘Bliss’ EP) together a few years back, so when I got the remix offer, I was immediately stoked. I’ve generally been working my way back towards making more underground styles of music as of late, but this one had the perfect bones to remix into my interpretation of a main-stage DnB banger.”

Cloaked in mystery, CloudNone has been precipitating throughout the dance and video game worlds with a distinct sound that is characterized by analog synths, rich atmospherics, and heartfelt vocals. He sports an impressive list of collaborations, which includes Elle Vee, Skybreak, Micah Martin, and Nina Sung. His work is well known to gamers with placements in marquee titles from the likes of Fortnite, Forza Horizon 5, and Rocket League. Add in support from some of the biggest names in electronic music, including Tiësto, Martin Garrix, Alison Wonderland, and Illenium, and it’s clear CloudNone has no ceiling.

Taking “Are You Happy Now” to completely new realms, CloudNone builds upon the emotional outpouring and impressive vocals, while exploring a melodic DnB sound, resulating into an unforgettable rework.
