Joined by London-led female songwriter/producer duo The Melody Men, “Eyes Open Wide” is a thunderous track sitting in the sweet spot between progressive trance and techno. Powered by an illuminating vocal hook emulating those moments when life feels more like fiction, the peak-time number captures the emotion when reality becomes too much to take in. Pounding kicks and clattering percussive patterns are accented by lysergic flourishes and dark industrial tones, ploughing through the space until high-pitched vocalizations fill the upper register with a sense of awe and wonder.
“Premiering ‘Eyes Open Wide‘ at Dreamstate Europe was an unforgettable moment,” says Sander van Doorn. “The energy in the room, the immediate response—it was electric. This track is all about opening yourself up to the full emotional spectrum of the music, and seeing how deeply it connected with the crowd was incredible. I can’t wait to officially release it and let the world feel that same energy.”
Says BLR, “Great to do my first collab with Sander, as we have known and supported each other’s music for years now, it was only time to get together in the studio and create the slammer that is ‘Eyes Wide Open’”
A generational talent based out of the Netherlands, Sander van Doorn has been a driving force in electronic music for over two decades. In that time, he’s remained a progressive and highly adaptive name that never prescribes to any single genre. His innovative approach has earned him accolades, including ‘Best Breakthrough Artist’ at WMC’s IDMA, and has been a huge draw at festivals such as EDC Las Vegas, Tomorrowland, Ministry of Sound, Global Gathering, Trance Energy, and Sensation.
Amersfoort-based producer BLR is the brainchild of Dutch sensation Leon Bolier, holding a reputation for creating dark, melodic club cuts spanning techno, progressive, deep house, and more. Earlier this year, BLR put his spin on van Doorn’s classic 2007 anthem “Riff,” offering a modern update that showcased his signature dark and melodic sound. His creative force has been recognized by industry heavyweights, leading to collaborations alongside Armin van Buuren and Matt Sassari, with official remixes for Martin Garrix, David Guetta, Tiësto, Andain, and Estiva.
“Eyes Open Wide” highlights the unrivaled abilities from two trend-setting artists, bringing together their unique sounds for a track designed to captivate dancefloors and festival crowds alike.
