Coyu goes techno with new remix of Joseph Capriati’s ‘This Then That’
Coyu has proven one of Spain’s most important dance music assets. As the brains behind Barcelona-based label Suara, he continues to unearth amazing house and techno from artists like Olivier Giacomotto, Jeremy Olander, Miguel Bastida and many more.
Now Coyu has been courted by Drumcode for a remix of Joseph Capriati’s “This Then That” from his 2013 album Self Portrait. While Coyu is typically known for his nuanced tech house style, he’s gone full techno for his latest release. His remix of Capriati is a peak-time bomb to say the least, charging forward with an unrelenting drive. The fact that Drumcode boss Adam Beyer has been rinsing it out in his own sets says everything you need to know about the new remix.
Following on from the success of Capriati’s album Self Portrait, 4 tracks have been hand selected by some of techno’s hottest producers. Dubfire, Coyu, Julian Jeweil, Luigi Madonna have each incorporated the same feeling that Joseph laid out in his original productions, but have added a unique twist that breathes a new lease of life into the tracks.
