Disclosure Delights Coachella By Bringing Out Sam Smith and Lorde

In their first main stage turn at Coachella, Disclosure delivered a star-studded dusk soundtrack on the festival’s second day (April 16).

Commencing against a backdrop of arcing and intersecting white lines, the U.K. duo opened with “White Noise” flanked by Aluna Francis of AlunaGeorge.

The Lawrence brothers then warned their audience that further surprises were in store, and immediately made good on that guarantee by bringing out Lorde to perform “Magnets” to the delight of all assembled.

Interspersed with solo numbers like “When a Fire Starts to Burn” and “Holding On,” the siblings also introduced a revolving door of featured guests, including Kwabs for “Willing and Able, Jillian Hervey for “Hour Glass” and Brendan Reilly for “Moving Mountains.”

Final surprise guest Sam Smith sent the main stage crowd into a flurry of cheers before launching into “Omen” and “Latch” to close out the night while the stage bathed the crowd in blue and purple light.
