Dokkodo’s latest offering is a simple, yet wonderfully sublime stripped back work, which further highlights the producer’s affinity with creating evocative soundscape that truly resonate with his listeners. Focusing on the acoustic guitar, ‘Haze’ has a folk-inspired melodious undertone, paired with simple electronic elements which make for a luxuriating listen.

Speaking about his latest release Dokkodo Sounds said, “‘Haze’ is me returning to my roots on the acoustic guitar. I’ve always loved fingerstyle acoustic guitar, with lush double tracked arrangements and I really wanted to bring that out in ‘Haze’. The main guitar is heavily inspired by Bon Iver’s Holocene. I wanted to keep the track very simple and textural, so there is no less melodic element, the track just kind of drifts along, giving the listener space to think. I wanted to capture the feeling of those distant memories, that become a blur and hazy in time, but in a good way. I like to think of the track as remembering a positive time in your life, not quite recalling all the details, but knowing that it was a good moment.”

Following on from the release of ‘Between Us’, which garnered the attention of tastemakers from across the lo-fi community, ‘Haze’ is the second single to be taken from Trueman’s upcoming EP ‘No Feeling Is Final’.
