Following a run of releases that have gradually introduced Eddie Bizzarre and his nostalgic take on house music, Blaufield Music’s mysterious signing now brings his vision all together with debut album ‘Club Bizzarre’, landing on 30th October. Building on a series of singles that have reworked familiar sounds and reference points through a distinctly playful lens, the seven-track LP gives the project its clearest shape yet.
Across ‘Club Bizzarre’, Eddie draws freely from the sounds and records that shaped dancefloors across the 80s and 90s, revisiting familiar reference points through his own house perspective. Recent singles ‘Count On You’, ‘A Love Bizarre’, ‘Hold On’ and his interpretation of The Shamen’s ‘Move Any Mountain’ all feature, while three previously unheard productions open up the album further. ‘Always’ pushes towards bright, open-air euphoria, ‘Jealousy’ slows the pace and lets the melody do the work, while closing track ‘Real Sounds’ is the most groove-driven of the three, built around funky electronics and a push-and-pull between darker tones and brighter details.
Together, the seven tracks make Eddie Bizzarre’s intention increasingly clear: an album driven by nostalgia without getting stuck in it, pulling sounds, memories, and ideas from the past into something made firmly for the club today. And while ‘Club Bizzarre’ might reveal considerably more about his sound, exactly who he is remains another matter…
