Ethan Ramos, one half of the Californian duo SHIFTY, reveals his debut solo EP ‘Workaholic’, coming via his new imprint,‘Unleaded Records,’ on July 10th. Ramos has spent the last several years producing, touring, and building an audience as one half of the house music duo SHIFTY. This record represents the beginning of a new creative chapter for Ramos and the inaugural release of his newly launched label, Unleaded Records.
‘Workaholic’ opens the EP with a driving cut built on a deep bassline groove and booming percussion. Melodic keys and invigorating brass elements flourish and weave alongside Ramos’s spoken word to create an introspective house track. Luminous chords, dubbed-out synths, and four-to-the-floor percussion intertwine in the second track, ‘Matter of Fact. Rich layers of bass form a dynamic groove, creating a punchy, peak-time club track.
