Chicago legend Green Velvet joins forces with Greek producer Detlef for ‘Work With Me’, a driving new club cut landing on Patrick Topping’s Trick Recordings on 2nd October 2026. The collaboration follows the pair’s recent single ‘Bounce UR Body’ on Cloonee’s Hellbent Records, which picked up support from Pete Tong, A-Trak, Gorgon City, Tony Romera and more.
Over a heavy, elastic bassline, Velvet delivers the track’s central refrain: “Life with me may not be easy but it’s simple, work with me”, giving the record the kind of memorable vocal hook that has been a defining feature of his productions since the nineties. The result is a functional but characterful house record, designed for the club.
For Curtis Jones, the man behind Green Velvet and his Cajmere alias, ‘Work With Me’ adds another chapter to a career that stretches back to the foundations of Chicago’s house renaissance. As Green Velvet, Jones went on to produce some of house music’s most enduring club records, working with artists including Carl Craig and Claude VonStroke. Detlef, meanwhile, has established himself as one of the most reliable names in contemporary house. The Greek producer has released music across labels including Hot Creations, Repopulate Mars, Solid Grooves, Defected and more, while his own Issues imprint has provided an outlet for his club-focused productions and emerging artists.
