Hardwell explains his new Zelda-inspired remix
Deadmau5 and Zedd are not the only producers who have a penchant for gaming. In a recent interview with The Game Awards, Hardwell revealed his soft spot for video games — more specifically, Nintendo 64′s The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. When Nintendo initially approached the Dutch DJ seeking a special remix for The Game Awards, van de Corput wasted little time in agreeing to lend his touch to “Gerudo Valley” from the Ocarina of Time.
“I definitely think there are similarities between dance music and video games, he says. “In the end, it’s all electronic music. You create different atmospheres in video games, the same goes for a DJ set.”
The 2015 Game Awards will air live on Thursday, December 3, at 9pm ET on YouTube Gaming.
