Newcastle producer HUUE joins forces with Sydney producer Arky Waters for their energetic new single ‘CAN’T STOP’, bringing together classic electro-house influences with the punch and unpredictability of modern bass-driven club music.
‘CAN’T STOP’ sits somewhere between electro house, techno and bass house, blending the nostalgic sounds of the genre’s earlier era with a more contemporary EDM edge. Fans of Ninajirachi, ATRIP and MPH will find plenty to get stuck into, with the track balancing infectious hooks and club-ready energy from start to finish.
The collaboration began when HUUE sent Arky Waters an early version of the track, inspired by the older electro-house sound of artists such as deadmau5. Arky then completely reworked the production, injecting a new level of energy and helping shape the track into its final form through a back-and-forth creative process between the two producers.
“This song was inspired by the older electro house sound of artists like deadmau5 combined with the modern EDM flair of hyperpop. I had been inspired by Arky Waters’ music for ages and really wanted to work on a song with him, so I sent him a song I was super happy with at the time. He completely flipped the beat on its head and added so much energy to it. We went back and forth with the track until we finished with how it sounds like now.” ~ HUUE
The track has already had its first real-world test, with HUUE dropping ‘CAN’T STOP’ during his recent support set for Habstrakt — where it delivered the biggest crowd reaction of the night.
