IMOGEN’s debut release on Steel City Dance Discs experiments wildly with various elements of her sound, resulting in a relentlessly infectious EP, born to bruise sound-systems and break boundaries.
Following on from her most recent EP, What?, IMOGEN unveils her latest venture, Albert Road, her debut release on Steel City Dance Discs.
A wicked, electric fusion of searing basslines and otherworldly soundscapes, this project sees IMOGEN experiment wildly with various elements of her sound, resulting in a relentlessly infectious EP, born to bruise sound-systems and break boundaries; something that has come to define IMOGEN’s wildly progressive style of music.
Opening with the with the fierce breakbeat of ‘In Bed With My 808’ before bleeding into ‘His Name Was Reese’; an unrelenting, four to the floor anthem, and concluding with the deeply enchanting ‘true-blue’, a mind-melting number that will feature a remix by Radioactive Man, this EP is a melting pot of electronic delights, masterfully manipulated by IMOGEN. Albert Road is a staple of IMOGEN’s evolution of sound, an evolution that seems to have no limit. From the acid-tinged basslines that fuel the EP’s personality, to the pulsating synths and distorted vocals that perfume the soundscape, all elements are meticulously melted into Albert Road; a burning cauldron of sound.
With a busy summer ahead of her, IMOGEN is set to represent Steel City Dance Discs at Phonox as part of their June residency, alongside notable appearances at Glastonbury, Stone Techno Festival in Germany and Neopop Festival in Portugal.
