Jai Wolf: How One ‘Summer’ Changed His Career

From bedroom producer to concert headliner, Jai Wolf is Billboard Dance’s latest act to be featured on its weekly discovery series, Radar.

The New York-based artist has made serious strides in the past seven months since the release of his breakthrough single, “Indian Summer.”

The record has collectively tallied more than 20 million streams, secured a handful of noteworthy commercial syncs and has even received the radio nod from bedroom produceron Beats 1.
Prior to the Foreign Family Collective release, he had taken the remix route to gain traction in the electronic music community, flipping records by Skrillex, Alesso, Dirty South and more
His organic success landed him a festival slot at Bonnaroo and a slew of performances on ODESZA’s 2015 fall tour, although he considers playing HARD Summer to be his most surreal achievement to date.
“I wasn’t sure what to expect,” he says. His stage time was set for 2 p.m., but as the performance’s imminent arrival grew closer, he noticed “nearly 10,000 people” had scheduled to see him on the festival’s app.
“I’ll never forget that day. The indoor stage was at capacity within 15 minutes.” He likes to think of it as one of his best sets thus far. “That was the moment I realized how real this had become and that there were so many real dedicated fans out there.”

Jai Wolf will be embarking on his first ever headlining tour this spring and has already sold out a handful of shows on both coasts.
While he remains coy about revealing upcoming project details, he says fans can “expect a lot more original tunes this year.”
