Jon Casey—celebrated for his boundary-pushing productions that span everything from deep dubstep to trap—crafts a brooding, atmospheric beat. It’s layered with ominous synths, razor-sharp percussion, and intricate textures that simmer with tension. Wreckno matches the aura with rapid-fire verses that cut through with undeniable charisma, delivering a defiant anthem about rising to the top and letting nothing stand in the way. “Next Up” showcases the seamless synergy between Jon Casey’s masterful production and Wreckno’s lyrical prowess, resulting in a track that is equal parts fierce and infectious.

Jon Casey sums up his new single succinctly, describing it as a “very fun and playful dancefloor banger.”

Wreckno speaks on the empowering energy captured on the collab, saying “This track with Jon Casey is one of my absolute favorites that I’ve worked on this year! The verses came so naturally; it’s such a hype trap bass banger! I wanted to make a track about being next up and nobody being able to stop it. I absolutely love the final product.”

Following the success of his recent single “Gimme” on Bassrush Records, which earned support from UKF and Trap City, Jon Casey continues to light up the North American festival circuit with appearances at EDC Orlando, Lost Lands, and Wakaan Festival, along with providing support for EAZYBAKED at Substation Seattle and Levity at Ogden Theater in Denver. Though the bass music scene in South Africa is small, Jon Casey remains committed to putting his homeland on the map. His goal is to return and help foster the electronic music scene, while continuing to push boundaries internationally with tracks like “Next Up.”

Meanwhile, Wreckno has seen a breakout year with major milestones including gracing the cover of DJ Mag North America, premiering a mini-documentary with Billboard, and securing music placements in Fortnite and NBC’s ‘Queer as Folk.’ Wreckno’s upbringing in rural Michigan fueled his drive to pursue music, often traveling long distances to immerse headfirst in the state’s vibrant electronic scene. Embracing his queerness, which is deeply embedded in their music and performances, Wreckno’s voice has become a defining strength. With “Next Up,” Wreckno further advances the mission of empowering the LGBTQ+ community within the bass scene, creating spaces where everyone can feel seen and celebrated.
