After years of lighting up Matroda’s sets, including a spotlight moment on the EDC Las Vegas mainstage, kineticFIELD, these long-rumored VIPs are finally seeing an official release. Leading the charge is a high-velocity drum and bass flip of “Forget It,” Matroda’s breakout anthem reimagined with scorched synths, rapid-fire percussion, and eerie chopped vocals. With nearly 74 million streams and co-signs from Tiësto, Diplo, Martin Garrix, and David Guetta, the original track’s legacy now enters a new chapter with this relentless rework.
Following closely is a charged-up D&B version of “4U,” a collaborative anthem originally produced alongside house legend Martin Ikin and rising vocalist Sian-Lee. The original track took the shape of their tech house banger—now reworked with frenetic breaks and low-end pressure that give Sian-Lee’s soulful vocals a new, high-stakes urgency.
“Saturday Love” gets a pulse-raising transformation, trading its retro soul groove for sharp breaks and a fresh rhythmic engine, maintaining its throwback charm while turning up the tempo. Closing out the EP is a VIP rework of “Gimme Some Keys,” where Matroda swaps piano-led swagger for tightly coiled energy and rave-primed momentum, anchoring the project with a nod to his club-tested roots.
Since first breaking out with his remix of SNBRN’s “California” alongside Chris Lake, Matroda has carved out his own lane in the global house scene. His self-described ‘matrodasound’ fuses everything from tech house and disco to bass and rock—and with this EP, he adds drum and bass to that ever-growing list. Over the years, his tracks have picked up support from heavyweights across genres, while his hybrid sets continue to blur lines and crush expectations.
With a global tour on the horizon—including stops at Day Trip Festival, Space Miami, Tomorrowland, and the Waxtroda Block Party with Wax Motif—Matroda continues to redefine what a modern dance artist can sound like. ‘Variations In Production Vol. 1’ is a celebration of evolution, speed, and sound system pressure.
Matroda’s EP “Variation’s In Production Volume 1” is available on all platforms via Insomniac Records.
