Nejvex makes his triumphant return to NGHTMRE and SLANDER’s Gud Vibrations label with his four-track ‘DON’T BE MAD’ EP. Built over two years following his move to the United States, the project captures the physical shift in his workflow after experiencing North American bass music in its natural habitat. Arriving September 4th, the EP marks a defining evolution for the ICON Collective graduate, honing in on the raw, live-tested side of his dubstep and drum & bass roots to deliver his most visceral body of work to date.
Title track “DON’T BE MAD” serves as the project’s explosive centerpiece, inspired directly by the high-energy madness of Nejvex’s first raves in Los Angeles. Opening with intricate sound design that rapidly escalates, the track unleashes cluster explosions of supersonic laser blasts, roaring mechanical fills, whirring tones, massive metallic slams, and aggressive tearout sequences.
Across the remaining cuts, Nejvex translates years of bedroom experimentation into intentional club weaponry crafted specifically for festival rigs. “BALOR” brings adrenaline-spiking suspense with otherworldly sound design and relentless, fever-dream energy. “EXPERT (VIP)” revamps the lead single from his 2024 label debut into a high-octane drum & bass weapon. Closing the EP, “KEEP IT REAL” channels classic riddim through a pristine, modern lens packed with squelching basses.
Speaking to the well of inspiration that sprung following his first exposure to the festival scene, Nejvex shares:
Moving to the US and listening to bass music live has definitely changed the way I produce music in general. My first time going to a rave was here in LA at Apocalypse and it amazed me how differently EDM sounded on huge sound systems (where it literally feels like the sub is shaking your insides). Before then, I was only listening to it at home. I got introduced to dubstep through the online world and never experienced it live—I’ve also been producing it for the longest time without ever hearing it on large sound systems. So, for these tracks specifically, I really tried taking the live element into consideration. I found myself making a lot more heavy dubstep after going to raves.”
The release adds momentum for what can only be described as a meteoric run for the rising producer. After winning SLANDER’s ICON Collective scholarship and releasing his breakout ‘OUTLAW’ EP on Gud VIbrations in 2024, Nejvex is joining the duo as support on ‘The Voyager’ Tour. The run brings his high-impact sound to major venues, including Believe Music Hall, Pacha New York, Bill Graham Civic Auditorium, Big Night Live, Echostage, and Treefort Music Hall.
Backed by co-signs and live support from heavyweights like Chime, Ace Aura, Virtual Riot, Au5, Skybreak, and Sharks, Nejvex has had his productions showcased across global stages such as Lost Lands, EDC Las Vegas, Beyond Wonderland, Ultra, and Rampage Open Air. With ‘DON’T BE MAD’ EP, Nejvex bridges the gap between bedroom sound design and dancefloor utility, landing a brutal, meticulously calibrated exercise in modern tearout.

More About Nejvex
Hailing from a small village in the Czech Republic and recently relocated to Los Angeles, Nejvex’s wide-ranging sound has earned him recognition from some of bass music’s biggest names. Nejvex is the moniker of Miloslav Šimon, an emerging Czech electronic artist who has quickly become a rising star in the underground dubstep scene. After being picked by SLANDER as the winner of their Icon Collective scholarship, Nejvex made the leap to the U.S. to expand his creative horizons. Even before that, his unique approach to bass music had already garnered live support from SLANDER themselves, as well as from Virtual Riot, Au5, Skybreak, Sharks and many more. His tracks have been played out at major festivals, such as Lost Lands, EDC Las Vegas, Beyond Wonderland, Ultra Music Festival and Rampage Open Air. Although mainly influenced by Virtual Riot, Nejvex’s production pulls from a diverse range of artists. His releases span across a variety of genres, ranging from heavy dubstep to color bass and with ventures into bass house and drum’n’bass. Unwilling to be confined by genre boundaries, Nejvex continually pushes his sound into new and uncharted territory. Nejvex has released on established labels such as SLANDER’s Heaven Sent, Gud Vibrations, Circus Records, Reinelex Records and Exobolt, and has also received radio support from Monstercat, NGHTMRE and SLANDER’s Gud Vibrations, as well as from color bass pioneers Chime and Ace Aura.
