Los Angeles, CA – Friday, August 21 – Leader in the dance music scene NGHTMRE has joined award-winning singer Jordin Sparks to breathe new life into her 2008 track “No Air.” The drum & bass rendition is out now on NGHTMRE and SLANDER‘s Gud Vibrations label.
Los Angeles-based producer NGHTMRE has played a significant role in the evolution of dance music throughout the past decade, with his influence breaching bass music, hip-hop and festival-defining genres.
Award-winning pop and R&B artist Jordin Sparks broke through with her 2007 platinum-certified self-titled debut, anchored by the Grammy-nominated hit “No Air.”
In NGHTMRE’s version of “No Air,” Sparks’ emotive topline cuts just as deep in a melodic DnB setting as it did when she made her mark on pop music in the mid-aughts. Her silky registers and soaring vocals are paired with warm piano chords, shimmering synth textures, and airy pad swells, while the melancholic choruses unfold over a bubbly, neon-lit drum & bass drive.
The ID set the internet abuzz after a live premiere when surprise guest Jordin Sparks made a cameo during NGHTMRE’s ILLfest set in May, causing a spike of clips with over 20M views across social platforms. The original song has amassed 688.18M streams, peaked at No. 3 on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart, and earned a Grammy nomination for ‘Best Pop Collaboration with Vocals‘ and MTV Video Music Award nominations for ‘Best New Artist’ and ‘Best Female Video.‘
It follows NGHTMRE’s recent label outing “Computah,” which drew more than 277.9k streams in less than a month. NGHTMRE has a busy schedule with international tour dates including festival plays at Nocturnal Wonderland, Lost Lands, Breakaway, Bass Canyon, Wobbleland, Global Dance Festival, Unity Electro, High Stakes, and 808 Festival, in addition to headline shows at SILO, DPRTMENT, Revel.
