France’s Notre Dame brings dark moods and plenty of emotion to his brooding disco, synth, electro and house fusions. His raw machine sounds have come on labels like Innervisions, Diynamic and Siamese, while his Paranormal label now sits at the forefront of the scene. Here, he teams up with Swedish duo Moontalk (Edwin Lindberg and Lukas Hällgren), who have climbed from the underground to the global stage, with hundreds of millions of streams, chart-topping singles, and support from DJs like Jamie Jones, Seth Troxler, and Adam Ten. The EP drops on 13th November, when Notre Dame and Pole Position play Lula Club in Madrid, followed the next day by Notre Dame and Julian Daumas at Boris Club in Barcelona for the latest Paranormal label showcases.
Drawn in by Moontalk’s demos, Notre Dame says he was “immediately connected with the track’s groove and distinctive bassline” so he reached out to join forces and bring it to life for this special milestone for the label.
The dark, funky ‘What’s So Funny’ has a wry charm driven by punchy kicks and colourful synths that zip, bleed and spray through the mix. DIY percussion and trippy pads set the scene as sleazy guitar riffs shapeshift around vocals and breathy ad-libs that pop, slur and stumble to build a wonderfully unhinged energy on the dancefloor.
Notre Dame, Moontalk’s ‘What’s So Funny’ comes on Paranormal on 13th November 2026.
