Parse Audio launch with mournful techno debut by Degray
Freshly minted imprint Parse Audio deliver a strong debut release in the form of The Source EP by Barcelona-based producer Degray.
Little is known about Degray and the element of mystery that surrounds his persona infiltrates his Parse Audio debut. The producer aptly runs his fingers on the stitches that hold together the mournful and enigmatic facets of his persona over the course of two deep and powerful tracks.
Opener Source Code begins with an unassuming piano loop which rapidly turns dark. An air of secrecy is maintained throughout with subtle percussion shifts and delicate sound design work.
B-side Mainframe exudes anxiety and ducks down deeper into the shadows. Tactile crackling sounds and layers of ambience give the track a strong physical feel.
The Source drops May 2nd on Parse Audio.
