Radio Slave’s REK’D drops ‘Overstanding’ on October 9th, the latest two-tracker from N-You-Up, John Bowtie, and Simkid, with The S.O.S. on vocals. ‘Overstanding’ is a fun, thumping house track with a dark, groovy bassline, complemented by the deep, soulful energy of the ‘Alternative’ mix, The S.O.S’s voice shining through both iterations.
““Overstanding” started several years ago as a track I made with The S.O.S. in my London studio. John Bowtie and N-You-Up later took the vocals and built a completely new version, taking it in a more stripped-back, club-focused direction. I revisited the original for the release, which became the Alternative Mix, with much of the instrumental built using analogue machines and real instruments recorded in the studio.” – Simkid
On ‘Overstanding’, N-You-Up joins fellow French producer John Bowtie, London-based Simkid, and vocalist The S.O.S. N-You-Up returns following their collaboration with Boogie Vice on ‘Make A Wish’ and remix for Radio Slave’s ‘All Rize’ last year. Hailing from Southern France, the duo blends jazz, funk, and disco influences across releases on Nervous, Get Physical, Definitive, Papa Records, and Superfett. John Bowtie brings his signature high-energy groovy house sound, having released on Indie House Records, Calamar Records, and AZUR amongst others. Simkid’s sound is largely analogue, frequently collaborating with London underground electronic artist, vocalist, producer, and DJ The S.O.S.
