Continuing its run of new global signings, Jamie Jones’ Hottrax welcomes Italian producer Rhoowax for his debut on the imprint with ‘Boogeyman’, a three-track EP shaped by instinct and a clear connection to the dancefloor. With releases on the likes of Elrow Limited, MOXY MUZIK, and Stereo Productions, alongside support from names such as Marco Carola and The Martinez Brothers, his second release of 2026 shapes a sound rooted in funk, disco, and classic house influences into an impressive three-tracker made for the club.
Opening track ‘Boogeyman’ came together organically in the studio, or as he puts it, “almost by accident”. Sparked by a deep dive into 90s soul and funk, and inspired by KC and The Sunshine Band’s ‘I’m Your Boogie Man’, the trackpairs familiar tones with a tight, rolling groove that feels both playful and functional. On ‘Uno Dos Tres’, Rhoowax looks back to his early influences, drawing on the house records that shaped his foundation, with subtle nods to labels like Strictly Rhythm. The result is a stripped, groove-led cut that keeps things simple and effective. To close, ‘What Time Is It?’ shifts gears with a more direct, driving approach, providing a track “designed for big moments and larger crowds”, built to carry weight in peak-time sets.
