Los Angeles-based duo RIOT continues their 2025 takeover with their electrifying new single “Try Again.” The latest offering from their recently teased full-length release, the track arrives on April 4th via NGHTMRE and SLANDER’s Gud Vibrations imprint. “Try Again” is the pair’s third release with the label this year, which sees them delivering deeper into the art of world-building, and furthers the momentum of “Everynight” and “Back To Back” as the pair pummels towards their forthcoming sophomore album.

“Try Again” is a genre-bending anthem that blurs the lines between trap, dubstep, and beyond. Built around a classic rap vocal, the track balances a sense of gritty nostalgia with an electrifying, modern electronic core. Firing laser synths, stray shell casings, and fierce low-end punches lay the foundation. A stripped-down section with an emotive synth lead brings the energy down before adding in alarming melodies with pitched and looped vocals, priming listeners for the auditory explosion that follows. Squishy sub-bass slams, suspenseful choir harmonies, pounding percussive clanks, and regal horn leads are intertwined in the first drop for an energetic onslaught. Not to be outdone, the retooled second drop enhances the intensity as it races into a double-time charge of pounding kicks, growling low-end, and heart-racing sirens. A cinematic vocal sample closes things out, adding to the thematic tone while also offering the perfect turnaround for repeat listens.
Setting the frame for their ongoing blitz through various subgenres of bass music, RIOT introduces their single with a jolt of inspiration: “‘Try Again’ is more than just a song—it’s a bold step into the unknown. This track marks the next chapter in our journey. With every note, we’re pushing boundaries, challenging the system, and reminding ourselves that no matter how many times we fall, we’ll always rise to try again.”
The release follows their two recent outings with Gud Vibrations, “Everynight” and “Back To Back”—with the latter serving as a breakout smash, gaining more than a half-million streams in just a few short months. Support for the string of singles continues to come crashing in, having earned recognition from UKF, EDM.com, Frontview Magazine, This Song Slaps, Dub Rebellion, Find Your Sounds, and Out Now, to name a few.
RIOT’s résumé speaks for itself. Their 2019 debut album ‘Dogma Resistance’ has amassed over 85 million streams, while their anthems “Wake Up” with KAYZO and “You Don’t Even Know Me” with label co-founders SLANDER have dominated streaming platforms, the second of which secured a Top 10 spot on the iTunes Dance Charts. Their ability to seamlessly blend brutal sound design with cinematic storytelling has led to collaborations with Franky Nuts, Dirtyphonics, NGHTMRE, Blanke, and official remixes for Illenium, Knife Party, Infected Mushroom, and Pegboard Nerds.
With upcoming performances at Shambhala and Dancefestopia (as well as a recent appearance at Lionheart), the year is shaping up to be a defining chapter for RIOT’s ever-growing career. “Try Again” stands tall as the third mind-melting track from their highly anticipated album, and it cements their status as one of the most consistent and diverse talents in all of electronic music.
RIOT’s new single “Try Again” is available on all platforms via Gud Vibrations.
