Ushering in Monstercat’s first album release of 2022, globally renowned producer and DJ Slushii today revealed his 14-track masterpiece, ‘E.L.E (Extinction Level Event)’. Three years in the making, E.L.E sees Slushii reimagine his dubstep roots with trap-inspired beats, melodic bass, and a futuristic pop-fueled edge. From “ICE” with Rickyxsan to “ACID HAUS” with Trilla, it’s a collection of his most boundary-pushing sounds from the very beginning of his meteoric rise. Today’s breakout single, “Carousel” features award-winning Canadian singer-songwriter, Kiesza, offering her earworm vocals on the synth-laden adrenaline ride.
Slushii shares on ‘E.L.E’, “This album is the culmination of three years of my best work. I really felt that there was a need for an album to revive the early 2010’s brostep machine, and fix it up with some new modern tech! This is a slow burn type of album, and one I hope you listen to front to back that can stand as a new beginning in the book of Slushii!”
Kiesza weighs in on “Carousel,” “Slushii and I met through friends and we instantly bonded over our nerdiness. We’ve worked on a few projects together before and we’ve been sitting on some music for a while now. I’m so excited we finally get to release ‘Carousel’ into the world! It was a ton of fun to record.”
Slushii adds on “Carousel,” “‘Carousel’ for me is a really important song because it’s a perfect description of my life at the time. Stuck making music that I felt was fun, but figured wouldn’t see the light of day. The past two years have really felt like one long Groundhog Day. Round and round and round again like a carousel! But truthfully this song has taken many forms, and the final form with Kiesza in the mix really makes for an anthemic return to doing what I was meant to do.”
Also featured on the package is Slushii’s most-streamed single to date, “All I Need” which peaked at #33 on the Billboard Hot Dance/Electronic Chart after debuting in his epic Fortnite virtual concert. Slushii has continued to be a pioneering artist in the gaming space with multiple syncs in Rocket League and a custom skin tracked to “Valhalla” in SMITE. Growing up with the challenges of Asperger Syndrome, the gaming community became his safe space where he could disconnect and be himself. Beyond his impact as a musician, he’s also become a champion for kids that share his experience and finally feel seen.
‘E.L.E’ is largely inspired by Slushii’s deep-rooted passion for Anime and Japanese culture, evident in the album and singles artwork, as well as the characters that make up the E.L.E storyline. He’ll take his audiovisual universe on the E.R.U. spring tour across the US, with stops at Ultra Music Festival, NY’s Marquee, LA’s Academy, and more iconic venues. Tickets are available here.

One check of Slushii’s ever-growing record of credentials and there’s no doubt that the 24-year-old, forward-thinker from New Jersey is the future of electronic dance music. To describe Slushii’s ascent as meteoric would be an understatement —in just three years since he emerged on the scene, he’s brought his vibrant, textured sonics to five continents and countless countries, with three headlining tours already under his belt. Slushii has electrified festival crowds everywhere from mainstage at EDC Las Vegas and Tomorrowland, to Ultra Miami, Reading + Leeds and HARD Summer to name a few, all while holding down residencies at some of the world’s most renowned clubs in Las Vegas.
His rap sheet doesn’t end at his relentless touring itinerary either. Massive collaborations and remixes co-signed by the likes of Marshmello, Charlie Puth, BTS, and more make Slushii a dominating force in the digital streaming landscape, as he continues to flex his ultra-versatile production capabilities with everything from poolside pop to punishing dubstep products. Touted as the next generation’s torch-carrier by the likes of Tiesto, Steve Aoki, and Skrillex, Slushii kicked off 2019 with his first ever pop crossover track ‘Never Let You Go’ featuring Latin pop star Sofia Reyes released on Big Beat/Atlantic Records. This past year saw Slushii achieve career-defining moments that only propelled his global fandom, including the release of his most-streamed record to date, ‘All I Need.’ The prolific producer debuted the single during his Fortnite virtual concert, which was a catalyst for the song to become a viral video game meme. Rounding out 2021 with the announcement of his forthcoming Monstercat album and anticipated Anime content, Slushii has his sights set on world domination from the command center of the E.R.U.
