“Masyaf” fuses elements of trap, speed house, and dubstep for an enthralling sonic adventure. Opening with an air of mystique, 8-bit melodies transform into royal brass leads that set the scene for the epic that is to follow. Metallic drums build excitement before hitting listeners with pitched-down rap vocals that add a sense of unwavering swagger. Soltan opens up about the inspiration behind the thematic offering: “‘Masyaf’ is inspired by the famous Masyaf castle in Syria, which was the second base of Assassins after Alamut got invaded by the Mongol Empire. I took the mysterious and nostalgic approach with writing the intro and then infused it with raw and underground energy of speed house and dubstep in the drop.
