SOUNDCLOUD ROLLS OUT NEW APP EMPOWERING ARTISTS TO CONNECT WITH FANS

While this summer has seen a growing list of artists publicly expressing frustrations over copyright issues with SoundCloud (see costume below), the music industry is reminded today of the platform’s overall mission to shift the power from high level execs of the traditional major label model back into the hands of artists.

SoundCloud introduced a new app the company is calling SoundCloud Pulse. The companion app is designed for creators, giving artists and tastemakers the ability to better manage their accounts and directly connect with fans and followers.

The new app offers account holders the mobility to carry out certain actions and use management features even while on the go. This means they can now reply to comments on tracks, get up-to-date track stats, follow other accounts and share new sounds both publicly and privately all from their phone.

While the new app is currently only available for Android devices, the streaming platform will be rolling out the iOS version as well as additional on-the-go features including track editing, expanded messaging and track uploading.

Android users can download SoundCloud Pulse for free from the Google Play store.
