Based in Florence, Supernova is an Italian producer duo that has remained at the forefront of the house underground since launching in 2003. Classically trained musicians and purveyors of club culture, the veteran pairing orbits around deep house, disco, funk, acid, tech, and Chicago house music. They debut on Factory 93 Records with their new single. “When I Close My Eyes” is a house track crafted with a timeless rolling disco groove.
The percussion and bassline are smooth like butter, gliding across the space while a soulful Motown vocal hook describes the rush of emotion experienced when eyes are closed. Warm, vibrato synth swells and funky melodic flourishes blend with smooth cooing and sweeping synth fills bringing old-school flavor with modern house finesse. Supernova spearheads their own Lapsus label, and has released collabs with Marco Lys, Easttown, Prok & Fitch, Dosem, and Mr. V, garnering support from Defected Radio, Get Physical Radio, Ibiza Global Radio, Ibiza Sonica, Radio Deejay, Radio 105, and DJ Mag.
