The Prototypes Return With New Dancefloor-primed Single ‘Never Be Alone’ ft. Felix Samuel

Today, 25th February, The Prototypes return with another drum & bass anthem featuring rising UK vocalist Felix Samuel –Stream ‘Never Be Alone Ft. Felix Samuel’  hereThe new single is the first cut taken from the duo’s upcoming deluxe album version, ‘Ten Thousand Feet & Rising: PART 2′.

‘Never Be Alone’ follows on last year’s weekend-ready energizer ‘Alive’ – a collaboration with genre-merging indie/dance trio NOISY. Felix is “one of the most talented young artists in the UK right now & this track captured his essence perfectly”, say The Prototypes on linking up with Felix for their new single. Masterfully crafted for the festival circuit and sunshine-etched summer months, but with one finger still firmly on the pulse of the underground, this is a perfect combination on both an artistic and harmonic level.

Showcasing the very best of both camps, it’s a triumphant return to the fold for The Prototypes, and an exciting insight into what’s to come from the celebrated pairing. Lashings of fast-paced drum & bass rhythmics are hand-forged in that dancefloor DnB mould, paired with Felix’s luscious vocal stylings and a wide range of instrumentation and synthetics from the Brighton-based trailblazers. For a duo who are always pushing the boundaries of their drum & bass/electronic sound, this is a real step back into their roots, and here they unleash a futurebound track that’s sure to set the scene alight once again.

The Prototypes will finally be able to celebrate the release of their DnB crossover album ‘Ten Thousand Feet & Rising’, which spawnedtheBBC Radio 1 A-list ‘Reason’ – a collaboration with dance-feature hot-property LOWES – whichhas amassed over 200+ BBC Radio 1 plays. The duo will bring their critically acclaimed album live in its entirety to London’s Colours on March 4 – Tickets here – Stream ‘Ten Thousand Feet & Rising’ here.

Normally found tearing up festivals and venues across the world, while clubs have been closed, over the past year The Prototypes have kept busy with a series of special livestream broadcasts. Recorded live from the British Airways i360 tower in their hometown of Brighton, ‘Legacy’ – A 90-minute livestreamed DJ set in aid of MIND – saw the drum & bass duo stream a 90 minute live DJ set via their Facebook page. In April 2020, The Prototypes performed a 24 hour Drum & Bass & Jungle DJ set in partnership with D&BTV and raised over £14K for the NHS through NHS Charities Together .

Their latest charity campaign started after Greg James named ‘Reason’ his Tune Of The Week and ‘Official Running Number 1’ on his show – the band launched #ReasonToRun on TikTok and Instagram in line with Mental Health Awareness Week. The campaign drew submissions from all over the globe detailing the positive impact running has on their mental wellbeing.
