THE WINNERS OF THE 31ST ANNUAL INTERNATIONAL
DANCE MUSIC AWARDS

Each year as the Winter Music Conference in Miami takes place, so does the International Dance Music Awards. Now in it’s 31st consecutive year, the event pays homage to the industry’s biggest names who have achieved great success in the past year. Of course, like many awards shows, there is always some controversy on who should actually win each category. This year is no different as the awards are given to the artists that might not be considered the most talented, but by those who were seen in the spotlight and received the most attention from fans.
You can expect to see Hardwell, Tiesto and Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike being given awards, even David Guetta wins somehting, who many believe is on his last leg. Artists who have crossed over into the Pop sphere like Kygo, Skrillex, Major Lazer and Calvin Harris are honored, while Techno giants Nicole Moudaber and Carl Cox also receive high praise, Jamie XX and Claptone too.
All in all, it’s a list of dance music giants, which isn’t really all that surprising. Don’t expect your favorite obscure underground artists to get honored in these awards, it would have been nice to see Rødhåd win, he was in fact nominated.
