THIS MUSIC IS SCIENTIFICALLY PROVEN TO IMPROVE CATS’ QUALITY OF LIFE

A new Kickstarter campaign is hoping to tap into a whole new market of music consumers. Classically trained cellist David Teie discovered and composed music that is scientifically proven to be enjoyed by cats, and he’s got the research to back it up. Teie outlines his goal for the campaign, stating that he hopes “to create an album featuring the first-ever music scientifically proven to enrich cats’ lives.

The music itself uses instruments to imitate sounds that cats hear in early development with purring sounds quietly rumbling in the background and the gentle whine of a musical meow. Teie creates and modifies his own instruments to produce music suited for feline hearing, and uses scientific data regarding the way cats hear to craft music they will enjoy.

A recent study found that 77% of cats that listened to Music For Cats exhibited positive reactions. From the proceeds of the campaign, Teie intends to beef up his recording setup, to better present the music for feline hearing.
