Trance music helps improve development in test tube babies, according to research

Researchers at a Moscow in vitro fertilization clinic have discovered that trance may provide a boost to the development of embryos. The researchers played the embryo’s music at 80 decibels, or roughly the same volume as a dial tone, for 24 hours, producing a positive response in the embryos.

The researchers’ music of choice came courtesy of Armin van Buuren‘s A State of Trance mix series. Being exposed to AVB’s trance stylings lead to a fifth more embryos reaching viability and were much more likely to reach the stage where they could be implanted in a womb.

Scientists speculate that the vibrations from the music help recreate the conditions similar to in the womb immediately after conception.
