TSHA releases a new single ‘Can’t Dance’, featuring Master Peace.

TSHA has shared a new single, ‘Can’t Dance’, featuring Master Peace.

Taken from her forthcoming album, ‘Sad Girl’, which is out via Ninja Tune on 27th September, the London artist’s latest single features vocals from Ivor Novello award-winning UK artist Master Peace.

Following the release of singles ‘Drive’, ‘Girls’ featuring Rose Gray, and ‘Sweet Devotion’ with Caroline Byrne, the lyrics for ‘Can’t Dance’ initially came about through TSHA’s work with UK-based singer, songwriter, and actor Raleigh Ritchie aka Jacob Anderson. She is best known for his appearance as Grey Worm in TV series Game of Thrones.

“I love the lyrics, because it reminds me of school discos,” said TSHA. “The girl, the boy, wanting to dance. People trying to look too cool, and not wanting to dance, or people wanting to dance — or there’s always that one person that’s dancing crazy, they’re all over the place, and everyone’s laughing.

“Jacob loved the song, but was like, I wrote those lyrics when I was 19, it doesn’t feel like me anymore. So I was trying to think who else would work for the vocal, who could deliver that cheeky, British, fun vibe. I was looking through Master Peace’s stuff and I was like, I’m obsessed. This guy’s sick. I loved his attitude.”

‘Sad Girl’ is TSHA’s second full-length album, following the release of her debut album, ‘Capricorn Sun’ in 2022.
