Built on a haunting piano progression and laced with glacial synths, “Waiting On This Day Forever” creates space for Freja’s striking topline to breathe—her performance landing like a whispered revelation. As the track swells, it detonates into a soaring drop, balancing melodic dubstep power with cinematic detail. Every element feels intentional, from the bone-shaking sub to the aching reverb tails, forming a soundscape that’s equal parts devastation and beauty.

Personally deemed one of his most refreshing creations of late, William Black boasts: “‘Waiting on This Day Forever’ is my favorite song I’ve ever made. It feels like a breath of fresh air—like I’m reconnecting with the sound that inspired me to start making music in the first place.”

Echoing the excitement to change up the pace, Freja The Dragon shares her thoughts about working with Black alongside her lauded songwriting cohort. “Happy to be a part of this. David Björk and I wrote it together, and I think it turned out really well. It might not sound exactly like my usual music, but it was a lot of fun—a truly emotional gem!”

Fresh off the success of lead single “Save Me,” which racked up 170K+ streams in under a month and earned radio love from Illenium, Prysm Radio, and Dance One, William Black continues to cement his role as a mainstay in the melodic bass world. His discography includes standout collabs with Illenium and SLANDER, and his live schedule this year is stacked with key plays at Starbase, Beyond Wonderland Chicago, Lost In Dreams Festival, and Dreamland.

Freja The Dragon—the alias of Stockholm multi-instrumentalist Freja Drakenberg—adds a distinct indie-pop elegance to the record. Known for her work with Peter Bjorn and John, and a solo career built on raw, lush songwriting, she delivers a topline that feels cinematic by design. Siberia rounds out the trio with her alt-pop edge, adding a contemporary spark that cuts through the track’s emotional core.

With “Waiting On This Day Forever,” William Black stakes out bold new territory, both sonically and emotionally. As he gears up for his most revealing album yet, this single signals a sharpened vision: cinematic, collaborative, and deeply resonant. Joined by Siberia and Freja The Dragon, William distills heartbreak into something visceral and cathartic, proving once again that melodic bass can carry weight far beyond the drop.

William Black, Siberia, and Freja The Dragon’s new single “Waiting On This Day Forever” is available on all platforms via Lost In Dreams.

More About Freja The Dragon

Behind the alter ego Freja The Dragon we find Stockholm native Freja Drakenberg. Since growing up, music has taken up most of her time. Today she’s a full blow singer/songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist. After graduating from The Royal College of Music in Stockholm in 2016, Freja started assisting Björn Yttling (Peter Bjorn and John, Lykke Li, Primal Scream) in the studio, which led her to join Peter Bjorn and John as percussionist, guitarist and vocalist on the band’s world tour for their Breakin’ Point album. When she came back home, Freja and Björn started experimenting in his studio, which led to the embryo of something new, something that would become Freja The Dragon. The duo has written, produced and arranged most part of the music, completely isolated from anyone else. The recordings have been rigorous, spanning over a year, and have taken place at Björn’s INGRID studio and at the legendary Atlantis studio in Stockholm. Finding the right soundscape has been essential, the musical world where Freja The Dragon can live and thrive. Now Freja’s musical expression is as characteristic as her voice. The debut single, “Tell Me I’m Wrong”, was released on INGRID in February 2019. However, Freja’s intense release period will begin in the fall of 2019 when several singles, which will lead up to her debut EP, will come out. Freja The Dragon already has an impressive amount of shows under her belt, opening for Swedish established artists like The Deportees, Peter Bjorn and John and Anna Ternheim, which has given her stage experience few new artists have.
