DEADMAU5 INVITES LABEL STAR ATTLAS FOR A STACKED

MAU5TRAP RADIO SHOW

Recently returned from a busier-than-expected Miami Music Week, Joel “Deadmau5” Zimmerman is back to his duties as a radio host. For episode two of his mau5trap radio show on Beats 1, the Canadian producer takes the first hour to play some of favorite music, before handing over to his label recruit ATTLAS for a guest mix.

Episode one of Zimmerman’s show delved into his love of deep and dark electronic music, with tracks from artists such as James Holden, Aphex Twin, Clark, Jon Hopkins, and Four Tet. This time around, the host plays on a similar theme, giving us music by Oneohtrix Point Never, Burial, Amon Tobin, and his musical hero Trent Reznor alongside fellow composer Atticus Rose. He also finds room for some Beastie Boys, just to keep listeners guessing.

Enigmatic Canadian ATTLAS then takes the reins in the second hour, delivering a dancefloor-geared guest mix featuring productions and remixes from Barnt, Mark Reeve, Stephan Bodzin, and Joris Voorn. The sound of ATTLAS’ hour-long session will feel familiar to anyone who caught the producer on the recent mau5trap bus tour across North America.

Take a listen to episode two of mau5trap’s new radio show below. You might also be surprised to hear how unironically Zimmerman takes his role as radio host, introducing each track with with just the right amount of humor and enthusiasm. This job suits him.
