Boulder-based artist ero808 and Vancouver’s producer NXSTY put their versatility in full focus on their debut on Insomniac’s new label, blending trap and bassline into a picture-perfect single.
Denver-based producer and songwriter ero808 links up with Vancouver producer NXSTY for their new single, slated to drop via Insomniac’s GOTTA MOVE label. Due on February 6th, “KODAK” is a trap-tinged collage framed around their shared ability to blur the lines between hip-hop and bass-heavy music.

Melding the vision of two dynamic artists, “KODAK” is a snapshot of the frequent collaborators standing on business. The low-slung cut runs the block with its street-wise mentality that every move made should be calculated, callous, and, most of all, photoworthy. Each bar NXSTY lays down brims with bravado. The rap verses are reinforced with a menacing production, which swings from dark, warping UKG rhythms to a mean halftime trap switchup and back again.
Reflecting on the creative process, ero808 shares, “NXSTY and I worked on like 19,263,718 different versions of this song before landing on this one. Shit goes off in a live setting. I’ve always wanted to do a crazy switch-up on the second drop to go from house to trap, and I think we made it work on this one.”
The release adds more fuel to the fire of ero808 and NXSTY’s longstanding partnership. Currently seven collaborations deep, “KODAK” builds upon the momentum of notable tracks like “CALYPSO” and “CODEINE,” clocking in at 16 million and 6 million Spotify streams, respectively.
