MOROCCO’S OASIS FESTIVAL LOCKS IN DIXON AND MORE FOR ITS 2016 RETURN

MOROCCO’S OASIS FESTIVAL LOCKS IN DIXON AND MORE FOR ITS 2016 RETURN

OASIS POSTER

The house and techno-tinted Marrakech festival is back in September.

Among a list of head-turning festival debuts in 2015, Morocco’s Oasis Festival made a particularly strong impression. Taking over the Fellah Hotel in Marrakech, the September weekender lived up to its name with a dreamy setting between the Sahara Desert and the snow-capped Atlas Mountains. Then there was the house- and techno-tinted lineup that led the poolside dancing, including Guy Gerber, DJ Harvey, Carl Craig, and Derrick Carter over three days and nights.

Oasis is returning on the weekend of 16-18 September, 2016, and the first names have been announced. This time around, the festival has secured Detroit trailblazer Derrick May, Innervisions boss Dixon, and UK duo Dusky, plus perfect-for-the-setting DJs including Hunee, Jennifer Cardini, Mano Le Tough, Tale Of Us, and The Black Madonna. The scale is intimate, too, with just two stages—the Desert Oasis and Bamboo Arena.

Oasis Festival is something new for the burgeoning electronic music scene in Morocco, bringing several internationally-renowned DJs to the country for the first time. More names for Oasis Festival 2016 are still to be announced, but you can check out the first 10 bookings on the poster below.
