Dallas-based producer Perry Wayne has been creating his own universe in the bass music scene, developing his distinct cinematic dubstep sound through conceptual, storytelling EPs and albums that suspend listeners in his dystopian alternate reality. He returns to NGHTMRE and SLANDER‘s Gud Vibrations label to issue his new 3-track EP, ‘The Ruthless,‘ a chronicle channeling elements of rebirth, perseverance, and transformation.

The lead track “There Is No Tomorrow” is a dubstep creation that sets the tone for a new chapter of his sound, bridging his well-known aggression and brutal sound design with compelling soundscapes and suspenseful melodies. Shouting vocal samples announce the idea that it is now or never, its movie-like aesthetic is scored by ominous chord stabs that swell above pounding drum lines before erupting into walls of trench drops marked by shrieking bottom-end and laser-locked slams.

It includes lead singles “Cracked” and “1000 Years,’ drawing media support from Parkett Channel, Dubstep Hellfire, Bass Riot. His previous world-building EPs on the label, ‘Become a God‘, ‘Rise of the Enterprise,’ ‘Embers‘ stretch back to 2022. His music has earned support from Excision, Adventure Club, RIOT TEN, Boogie T. He is hosting his The Ruthless headline show at Q Nightclub, with upcoming EP-themed headline stops in Montreal and more into Q1.
